The marathon includes 3 races: the full marathon (42.195 km run), a half marathon (21.0975 km run), and a 5 km fun run. The route for the races is Eastern Sea Park (Pham Van Dong Beach) – Hoang Sa Street – Truong Sa Street – Tran Thi Ly Bridge – Thuan Phuoc Bridge – Eastern Sea Park.
Racing Director: Dr. Khiem Ngo – A sport injuries specialist and avid sportman. This is his first international event on his homeland of Vietnam.
Technical Director: Mr Dave Cundy – Vice President of AIMS (the Association of International Marathons and Distant Races) and an International Cross Country and Road Running Official with the IAAF (International Association of Athletic Federations). He is Australia’s most experienced marathon director – he was the Race Director of the Canberra Marathon for 30 years; Race Director of the Sydney Olympic Marathons; Technical Director of the Gold Coast Marathon from 2001-2006; Race Director of the Australian Outback Marathon from 2010-2012 and has been the Race Director of the Great Wall Marathon in China since 2002.

Post –event tours begin for tour purchasers
The course will be certified by the IAAF-AIMS (International Association of Athletics-Association of International Marathon and Distance Races) to international standards, making its timing records official.
The total expense for the competition is supported by World Marathon Inc. After the event, Vietnam will become the 97th member of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS).
The next Da Nang Marathon 2014 is schedule on August 31 and September 1 2014.
